CRAFTING AN IDENTITY FOR A MOVEMENT THAT SEEKS TO EMPOWER THE YOUNG


 

IBIY is a visual celebration of the lives of African men and women who have shaped the world around them for the better. The project seeks to celebrate those who have achieved success and widespread recognition, individuals who have believed in the can do spirit, African men and women who believe that with every dream there is  capacity, intellect and resources within to achieve.

A unique concept, the project combines fine-art portraits, short films, behind the scenes photography, written narrative and a feature length documentary.

The project was killed in it's last hours but we thought it was cool to show the vibrant visuals this project possesses.

OBJECTIVE

The aim was to develop an outspoken visual identity for a brand that seeks to empower the youth through motivation from renowned personalities who have attained great heights in their respective fields and industries. The result should be relevant to the young target audience. 

 

SOLUTION

We developed a brand system that was vibrant, energetic and modern. Fit for the target audience. The visual language transcended all media of communication, ensuring a coherent recognizable brand across all platforms. We created a brand that can be trusted and believed in.

The motion theory revolved around the qualities of the youth. Unpredictable, brazen, confident and "cool". We also linked these qualities directly to the dynamism of color, typography and shape.
